The truth about AID

Association for India's Developement is a "NGO" which is very active on US university campuses. I know many unsuspecting young men and women of Indian origin who have been devoting their time, money and sweat to help raise money for the people back home. This is a noble thing to do and there is a lot of respect in the desi community for the volunteers.

It is because of this that the relevations about the roots of AID came as a shocker for me. The higher ups in the organization have links to the far left communist parties and even the naxalites who are wreaking havoc in large parts of the country. Not only this, there also seems to be a link with some rogue jehadi organizations.

Depending on your thinking, it may or not be correct to propagate marxist and naxalite ideology. But it is definitely wrong to hoodwink dreamy eyed young people into thinking that they are trying to make a difference for the less previledged of their home country when their hard earned money is going into financing conference for the naxalite movement.
